THE CLUB OF EXPERT PATIENTS. SIGN UP FOR THIS INITIATIVE!
AEPA ATM has developed an initiative named ¨Paciente Experto¨ to complement health professionals’ contributions to mitigating orofacial pain.
This experience is based on programs that have been developed for Britain’s National Health Service, as well as other programs designed for health organizations in other countries within the European Union.
The club consists of patients who have experienced these illnesses and have demonstrated their capacity to take responsibility for their health.
They are patients that understand the seriousness of these illnesses. Furthermore, they know how to identify the symptoms of orofacial pain, dysfunction of the TMJ, or trigeminal neuralgia, and have developed their own techniques to help manage the physical, emotional, and social impact of these illnesses. These patient experts are interested in helping others. They lead meetings and organize help for other groups of individuals affected by these illnesses.
